Sunday Surprise on a Kurenai HM33R

by Okieflier

I was enjoying a late Sunday evening fishing adventure at the local city lake using my wife's Kurenai HM33R. I had a size 14 black bluegill killer on a 6X tippet. Caught a bunch of small bluegill and a couple of baby bass (4"ers). Decided to make one more cast and caught this beautiful spotted bass. About 14" and fought like all get out. The Kurenai handled it very well and did not strain it much. I was more worried about breaking the fly off. Love my wife's 1 ounce rod! Bought it from Chris last April at Mountain Home. I guess I will have to let her use it now!! lol

Watch out!
by: Chris Stewart

I've always mentioned watch out who you lend a rod to. They might want one. I suppose the same thing happens when you borrow a rod. You might want one!

High quality
by: Rob Ruff

I received mine earlier in the week. I can't wait to get it to the trout stream. I may have to take it the the local pond just to catch a bluegill or two. It appears to be a wonderfully crafted rod.

As age slows my pace, I will become more like the heron.

The hooks are sharp.
The coffee's hot.
The fish are slippery when wet.
