Took my Nissin 450 two-way ZX (soft) to our local urban catch and release pond today. I landed 29 of these feisty rainbows 10 - 14 inches. This is by far my personal best for quantity in one outing. I used a 2.5 level line about the length of the rod with 5' of 5x tippet and a small foam indicator. The fly was a #16 black midge with red wire rib and a bright orange hot spot at the head. It got pretty chewed up but the trout didn't seem to care. I had a great day with a great rod.

“The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten” - Benjamin Franklin
"Be sure in casting, that your fly fall first into the water, for if the line fall first, it scares or frightens the fish..." -
Col. Robert Venables 1662
As age slows my pace, I will become more like the heron.
We've all had situations where seriously chewed up flies kept catching fish after fish after fish. It is no sin to tie flies that come off the vise looking seriously chewed up.
The hooks are sharp.
The coffee's hot.
The fish are slippery when wet.
