Rainbow Trout on a Kiyotaki

by Matthew
(Bend,OR)

I took the kids to Three creek lake and while they were fishing for a few eaters (10" plus rainbows) I hit the bank with a size 22 black gnat and got this little fellow first cast. After bringing him in a kid watching ran over fast as she could and asked where she could get one of those "minnow poles" cause she only wanted to catch minnows too.

“The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten” - Benjamin Franklin

"Be sure in casting, that your fly fall first into the water, for if the line fall first, it scares or frightens the fish..." -
Col. Robert Venables 1662

As age slows my pace, I will become more like the heron.

Warning:

The hooks are sharp.
The coffee's hot.
The fish are slippery when wet.
