This is not a review of equipment, as such, but a review of the customer service I’ve gotten from Chris Stewart, aka Tenkara Bum.
With sooooo many possibilities and choices I’ve asked him for advice on various things, the latest pertaining to my infatuation with fly rod spoons, and last night an adjustment to an order that was in process with him.
It’s not just his business professionalism that impresses, but his honest enthusiasm to share his knowledge and experience. His recommendations are IMHO the absolute gold standard of advice. While this website is a cornucopia of tenkara information, his personal assistance is what puts Tenkara Bum at the pinnacle.
Thank you Chris Stewart!!

As age slows my pace, I will become more like the heron.
We've all had situations where seriously chewed up flies kept catching fish after fish after fish. It is no sin to tie flies that come off the vise looking seriously chewed up.
The hooks are sharp.
The coffee's hot.
The fish are slippery when wet.
