Kenkara aka ken

(Bentonville AR. U.S.A.)

Just got back from 3 mo. in West Yellowstone MT. I fish with nothing but Tenkara. This is my 4th year of addiction and I wish I would have found this amazing way of fly fishing years ago.

I fish a really popular stretch of the Madison. There were a lot of days when everyone I talked to were saying how slow the fishing was and I was having a really good day due to Tenkara. Had a funny experience this year. I hooked a really big rainbow est. over 22" on a #22. Got one big end over end jump 4' in the air and then the run which straightened out that hook like a laser. I tied on a new fly and started fishing again and this big rainbow jumps about 20' past the spot where she got loose. She then jumped 5 more times most with big flips in the air kinda like ha ha ha ha you can't catch me. I've had fish that broke off and still had the fly in them jump a couple of times but never one that didn't have a fly stuck in their mouth. Wait till next year!!!! I know where she lives. Ken

“The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten” - Benjamin Franklin

"Be sure in casting, that your fly fall first into the water, for if the line fall first, it scares or frightens the fish..." -
Col. Robert Venables 1662

As age slows my pace, I will become more like the heron.

Warning:

The hooks are sharp.
The coffee's hot.
The fish are slippery when wet.
