Royal Smurf Bluegill on blue fly

The royal smurf is tied on a Dohiku size 16 with tungsten 2mm nickel slotted bead, blue yarn, starling hackle and utc peacock thread.

This more than likely was the first blue fly this bluegill has ever seen.

The royal smurf wasn't their favorite on this day, but it did attract a couple.

bluegill tenkara
by: scott

Thank you Colin for your comments.Bluegill are my
absolute favorite fish.I love their attitude.
I would encourage you to get a tenkara rod or a soyokaze rod. Tenkara bum can direct you to a rod
that would fit your need and budget best.
I started with a TFO 4wt,then moved to a TFO 2wt,
then to tenkara rod, to soyokaze rod. Can't ever have too many rods.

All the best,

The hooks are sharp.

The fish are slippery when wet.
