Covid-19 Announcement

Most international flights have been cancelled.

TenkaraBum Challenge - Shortnose Gar

Shortnose Gar

Shortnose Gar

I returned to Indian Creek with renewed focus and a bigger net. And also a good location tip from Zach Janssen a local carp on the fly specialist. The setup for both fish was the Kiyose 33SF with a size 12 bead head Killer Bugger.

If you're going after a lot of gar some heavy scud hooks would be a good idea.

Return to TenkaraBum Challenge 2014.

“The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten” – Benjamin Franklin

"Be sure in casting, that your fly fall first into the water, for if the line fall first, it scares or frightens the fish..." Col. Robert Venables 1662

As age slows my pace, I will become more like the heron.

The hooks are sharp.
The coffee's hot.
The fish are slippery when wet.
