Common Carp

Common Carp

After many frustrating sessions of spooky fish and broken tippets (don't want to talk about the rod), I got a carp this morning. Small muddy pond. Dropped the fly into a mud cloud and waited. When I slowly raised the rod the line went straight and I set the hook. The rod (Kiyose 43MF) did the work after that.

Don't wait

The Challenge ends 11:59 PM this Sunday. All entries must be received by then. It would be nice to have more carp and catfish on the board, though.

Nice catch! I have some big carp and catfish in my pond. I was thinking about trying to put something up on the board.

As age slows my pace, I will become more like the heron.

The hooks are sharp.
The coffee's hot.
The fish are slippery when wet.
