Utah Killer Bug Challenge

by Dave Southall
(Driffield, East Yorkshire, UK)

My variant of the Utah Killer Bug tied with Globrite Floss (see the UKB Challenge for tying sequence) is one of the best flies I have for grayling fishing (& it is excellent for brown & rainbow trout). In November 2014 I had an outstanding hour on my local chalk stream (Driffield Beck, East Yorkshire, UK) landing 7 big grayling with the best two weighing 2lb 7oz & 2lb 14oz on an orange Utah Killer Bug (size 12).

The hooks are sharp.
