Sakasa Kebari Tying Kit

The Sakasa Kebari Tying Kit includes a package of 25 Daiichi hooks, the materials required to tie 25 Sakasa Kebari, and step-by-step instructions. It is a great way for a beginner or experienced fly tier to try out a new pattern without having to buy whole a whole partridge or hen pheasant skin - (if you can even find a hen pheasant skin).

Sakasa Kebari One Fly Kit The Sakasa Kebari with it's forward swept hackle has to be the iconic tenkara fly. Although Daniel's research has indicated that many experienced tenkara anglers in Japan fish only one fly, or at least one pattern, most choose a variety of Sakasa Kebari.

This kit has the materials for tying the Takayama Sakasa Kebari, which in Japan generally has a silk body, peacock herl thorax and hen pheasant hackle. I've provided a choice of hackle (either hen pheasant or Hungarian Partridge), a choice of silk thread (Pearsall's hot orange, highlander green, primrose yellow, crimson, purple or brown) and a choice of 25 hooks (either Daiichi 1150 or Daiichi 1250 barbless hooks), plus either one peacock eyed stick or one pheasant tail feather.

The Pheasant Tail body option comes with brown silk thread. The Peacock Herl body option comes with choice of green or scarlet silk thread. The Silk Thread options come with peacock herl for the thorax.

The step-by-step instructions are pretty much the same as shown on my Sakasa Kebari page, but most people probably don't have their vise set up in front of the computer screen.

The Sakasa Kebari One Fly tying kits are a bit more expensive than some of the other One Fly kits. The silk thread is more expensive and I have to pluck and sort the feathers myself.

Payment

Payment is through Paypal but you don't need to have a Paypal account. You can use your credit card. Paypal payments will be made to chris at tenkarabum dot com. Credit card statements will read CM Stewart.

Shipping

Shipping for the Sakasa Kebari tying kit is covered by the flat $3 shipping charge added to all orders. Because of US Government regulations, I cannot ship either the pheasant or partridge feathers out of the US. For international customers I have included an option of India Hen, which can be exported.
